Brazil-China: Five Benefits of a Technology Partnership for Companies

Establishing international business partnerships is a strategic move to establish a brand in its segment and become a benchmark in its field. Among a wide range of advantageous territories for strengthening this relationship, trade relations with China are being explored extensively, a partnership that can yield enormous benefits for the brand's expansion and competitive advantage.

In late 2023, during President Lula's visit to the country, approximately 15 cooperation agreements were signed with the Chinese government, notably in the areas of trade, technology, and agribusiness. While China clearly has an interest in exporting its solutions to our territory, both parties have much to gain from this rapprochement, particularly in terms of learning, networking, and business expansion.

Few people are truly aware of the range of benefits that can be gained from this business relationship. Therefore, below are four advantages that can be gained by businesses that delve deeper into this strategy:

#1 Leaving Eurocentrism: The idea that Europe, or even the United States, is the center of the world and a benchmark in all aspects needs to be left behind. There are many other powers, such as China itself, that can offer enormous business benefits to companies seeking to establish solid and prosperous relationships. As proof of this, in 2022, bilateral trade volume reached US$150.5 billion, according to government data, highlighting a growing relationship that should be on the radar of entrepreneurs.

#2 Count on one of the largest GDPs in the world: China currently has the second-largest global GDP, estimated at US$17.7 trillion, making it a highly advantageous region for investment and trade. This provides companies that decide to engage with local businesses with greater financial security when determining their strategies, especially in fast-growing areas such as technology.

#3 Access to cutting-edge technologies: According to an estimate shared by the Chinese president, the country intends to inject 371 billion yuan (equivalent to approximately R$1,400,000) into science and technology (S&T) this year. This is an excellent time to strengthen commercial partnerships between the nations, as Brazilian companies will have access not only to cutting-edge and sophisticated technological resources, but also to an army of local developers ready to assist with these technological demands. All this, at a cost-benefit ratio far more affordable than that of other nations.

#4 Cloud investments: Complementing the previous topic, cloud computing is one of the technologies China is investing most heavily in and has significant potential to be prioritized by Brazilian companies. After all, in the corporate world, this resource brings greater flexibility, reliability, performance, and efficiency to processes, helping to reduce costs and increase productivity. According to the local government, the goal of its "Eastern Data and Western Computing" plan in this area is to generate approximately US$1,400,000 in annual investments—including the expansion of this model to other countries to foster such partnerships, including Brazil.

#5 Support from specialized partners: Even though technology is already a widespread reality in the market, many companies still struggle to incorporate such resources into their daily operations. Therefore, to keep pace with this movement and ensure your business doesn't fall behind, it's important to rely on the support of specialized partners in the field who provide a qualified team to manage this technological process internally. Today, there are companies dedicated to this mission here, capable of providing all the support needed to unlock your brand's technological potential in your segment.

Nowadays, choosing to run a business in isolation isn't smart. We live in a dynamic market where establishing these business relationships brings enormous advantages for growth and competitive advantage, enabling the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and resources that will boost the brand and enhance its performance.

Relations between Brazil and China have been building for years and are showing increasingly better results. There is much to be explored by both parties in this regard, which must be pursued by companies that wish to differentiate themselves and reach ever higher heights, becoming true benchmarks in their fields.
