Artificial intelligence is already adopted by 65% of companies

Companies of all sizes are betting on artificial intelligence (AI) to transform their internal and external processes. According to a study done in 2024 by McKinsey, 65% of companies are using AI regularly in at least one business function. The percentage reveals a significant increase compared to the previous year, when 40% of organizations had joined the tool.

The survey also revealed that 50% of companies that have adopted artificial intelligence have noticed an increase in productivity. Entrepreneur Frederico Stockchneider, chief technology officer of InfoWorker, says that AI has been reshaping the management and corporate routine. “It is a process without return. Companies that do not fit the new resources will lose competitiveness for their competitors, because what is at stake is the agility of solving demands and the reduction in the costs”, comments.

Stockchneider explains that there are several AI solutions on the market and the definition of the best resource depends on variants such as the company profile, area of expertise, volume of data available, purpose, among others. He cites, for example, the tools Microsoft offers to its customers. “The demands change, according to the need of each organization”, he points out.

SMEs

Whether in a small business or a multinational, integrating AI into the corporate routine is more than a trend: it is a necessity. Stockchneider reinforces that the AI revolution is not restricted to large corporations. Affordable and flexible solutions allow small and medium-sized companies to also adopt the technology. “Whether in customer service with smart chatbots or in inventory management, AI is helping to level the field of” competition, he points out.

Among Microsoft's most sought-after products, he said, are Power BI & AI to provide comprehensive data analytics, enabling companies to visualize data intuitively to guide strategic decisions & Azure Machine Learning, which is a machine learning platform that allows them to build, train and deploy large-scale AI models.“O Azure is a great fit for organizations that want to harness the power of machine learning to solve complex” problems.

According to him, artificial intelligence has been a tool used for several years, but it has become popular recently thanks mainly to solutions such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, which help automate tasks, provide insights and improve collaboration between teams.“These are features indicated to automate repetitive tasks, analyze large volumes of data and provide valuable insights that help in making” decisions, he says.

ADDED VALUE

Another major advantage, Stockchneider points out, is that artificial intelligence helps improve operational efficiency by optimizing processes and reducing human errors.Mckinsey research has pointed out that AI is being more commonly adopted in functions where it can add value, such as marketing, sales and product and service development.

However, despite the advances, the implementation of artificial intelligence is not without challenges. The need for employee training, integration with existing systems and issues related to ethics and privacy are some of the points that require attention. “More than technology, it is essential that companies invest in education and creation of an organizational culture adapted to this new moment”, he evaluates.

The chief technology officer at InfoWorker says that this is a niche where AI has been widely used.Copilot, for example, is a resource that helps employees work smarter and more collaboratively, allowing them to focus on higher value-added activities.
