The fintech Magie, which has been gaining prominence in the financial market, has just taken an important step by integrating 10 banks into WhatsApp, allowing its users to make payments and transfers via PIX using balances from accounts of different financial institutions. The new feature will be available starting next Monday (16), with the promise of offering a practical and secure solution for year-end celebrations, without the need to directly access banking apps on their primary phone.
Backed by resources from Meta and OpenAI, Magie has stood out for innovation in its platform, which allows for simple and fast financial transactions through text, audio, or image commands. Since its launch in 2024, the fintech has already moved R$ 300 million and recently completed an investment round worth R$ 28 million, led by the U.S. investment fund Lux Capital, with participation from the Brazilian fund Canary.
“Our intention is to increasingly make life easier and provide security for people. Magie allows customers to uninstall banking apps from their phones and leave home with just WhatsApp. And, of course, any transaction made requires authentication via password, along with the option for users to set limits for PIX and payments,” says Luiz Ramalho, CEO and founder of Magie.
Magie’s proposal is to meet the needs of users looking for an agile way to make multiple daily payments while ensuring greater security by avoiding the use of banking apps in public places. The fintech, which already implemented Open Finance technology in early December, expects a significant increase in the number of transactions during the holiday season, offering a solution that could transform how Brazilians handle their daily finances.
The ten banks available in the new feature are: Itaú, Nubank, C6 Bank, Santander, Bradesco, BTG, PicPay, XP, Banco Inter, Banco do Brasil e Mercado Pago.
The new feature will be enabled three days before the native WhatsApp payments feature is deactivated. Despite this, Meta Brasil supports Magie’s initiative, providing digital infrastructure and support for development within its app.
Magie has also been increasingly investing in security. Today, for example, it already ensures that users’ passwords are not stored in WhatsApp chats and uses robust protection systems to guarantee the security of banking transactions. Soon, it will also integrate a facial recognition system.
“We are betting on the Brazilian public’s appetite for innovations in financial services, driven by the popularity of PIX. Combining advanced technology and a familiar interface, Magie positions itself as an efficient and secure alternative for everyday banking transactions,” concludes Luiz Ramalho.
