Havan and Luciano Hang achieve unprecedented victory in Justice against online scams

The Havan and entrepreneur Luciano Hang had an important victory in the Santa Catarina Justice against online scams. In an unprecedented decision, the Justice ordered Meta Platforms, responsible for Instagram, to block all fraudulent paid ads that use the name, image, and brand of Havan and Luciano Hang, especially those that use artificial intelligence, also known as Deep Fake. The social network has 48 hours to comply with the order.

This decision is a milestone in the protection of the rights of the retailer and the entrepreneur, who have long been harmed by digital scams. The judge in the case compared the situation to a television station airing a false advertisement, where someone promotes a Havan product without any legal authorization verification.

The owner of Havan, Luciano Hang, celebrates the sentence. “We have been fighting, day after day, against these internet criminals. But unfortunately, it seems like a losing battle. This victory will not only protect my image and Havan’s, but also our customers, preventing them from being deceived by online scams and avoiding financial losses.”

Havan’s lawyer, Murilo Varasquim, from Leal & Varasquim Advogados, pointed out that with this decision, Facebook and Instagram can no longer display paid ads involving Havan and Luciano Hang unless officially authorized by the company. If Meta does not comply with the order, the fine could reach R$ 20 million.
