With new corporate travel service, VExpenses becomes an all-in-one platform

Since its acquisition by VR a year ago, VExpenses, Latin America’s largest corporate expense management platform, has stepped on the accelerator. The company has just launched its corporate travel management service — the only missing piece in its all-in-one platform. After nearly a year of development, including obtaining the necessary licenses, VExpenses created a full-fledged travel agency, enabling companies to issue air and bus tickets, book hotels, and rent cars — all already connected to expense management services to process invoices and control employee travel expenses.

“We heard from our clients, from small to large, that their pain points were clear: bureaucratic processes, lack of transparency, delays, and inefficient travel management. They were losing time, money, and energy on tasks that didn’t add value. Our new service ensures everything from customizing travel policies to automated expense reporting flows, all in real-time with high security. We expect 50% of our client base to adopt the solution by the end of 2025,” says Thiago Campaz, co-founder of VExpenses.

The startup, which emerged eight years ago in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo’s countryside, and counts major brands like Nike, Centauro, Habib’s, Apargatas, and Puma among its clients, was initially created to solve the market’s expense management pain points. Today, it serves over 4,500 clients across nine countries, totaling 500,000 employees, plus 180 staff working to position the brand as a robust, multifunctional, and complete platform ready to meet the needs of companies of all sizes.

The expansion into the OTA (Online Travel Agency) segment has a reason. Currently, VExpenses clients transact around R$ 6 billion in corporate expenses. With the new travel platform, VExpenses aims to capture 10% of the corporate travel market by 2029.

“By doing everything in the same environment, the client saves time and money. We want to bring companies the same convenience and usability in ticket purchases and reservations that end consumers already experience daily,” promises Campaz, noting that VExpenses, unlike competitors and other industry players, does not charge fees for booking issuance.

VExpenses has also invested in technology to offer a 100% digital experience to clients. With an intuitive, mobile-optimized interface, the platform allows managers to control expenses and approve travel itineraries quickly, while employees gain autonomy to organize their trips efficiently and in line with each organization’s internal policies. Additionally, the company offers a travel card that generates a unique number per transaction, enhancing security and eliminating potential fraud. “The card also offers cashback on the transacted amount,” highlights the executive.

According to Campaz, the acquisition by VR, finalized in October 2023, created a favorable environment for VExpenses to accelerate its expansion and innovation. The partnership brought broader market reach and enabled strategic investments in technology, solidifying the startup as a leader in the segment. “VR’s role as a solutions platform for workers and employers complemented our expertise, allowing us to innovate in new areas more rapidly.”
