According to Google’s study, on last year’s Black Friday, 28 out of 30 analyzed sites had satisfactory loading times on the first page. However, this average dropped drastically when analyzing the most important content of the site – only 14 e-commerce sites maintained the loading time within the parameters considered ideal.
As Black Friday approaches, companies’ technological infrastructure becomes essential to support the increase in traffic and consumer expectations. IT executives share strategies to face the challenge, focusing on scalability, customer experience, and sustainability.
Cloud scalability to increase performance
José Roberto Rodrigues, country manager of Adistec Brazil, highlights the importance of cloud computing. “With the increase in demand during Black Friday, the cloud allows for greater flexibility and shorter response times, which are essential for quick and effective purchases. Cloud usage projection should be based on the expected campaign results, avoiding overloading the local infrastructure.”
Network infrastructure for high access peaks
Network scaling is crucial to maintain quality. According to Fernando Reis, Design Center manager at WDC Network, practices like load balancing, network optimization, and monitoring are essential to ensure that traffic peaks do not compromise the user experience. These techniques ensure that the system maintains stability, even during moments of high demand.
Sustainability and energy efficiency in Data Centers
The Approach’s Technology Director, Rafael Oneda, emphasizes that sustainability in data centers is essential. “A hyperconverged infrastructure, which consolidates subsystems into a single platform, reduces energy consumption and physical space, contributing to a lower carbon footprint,” he says. This is an important point of focus for companies looking to balance high performance with environmental responsibility.
Rugged infrastructure and load testing to ensure UX
With the increase in access, the risk of cyber attacks also grows. Guilherme Marcial, Sales and Marketing Director at Teletex, explains how Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are crucial in preventing incidents on Black Friday by identifying denial-of-service attack attempts (DoS), monitoring, and responding to attack attempts in real-time. “Enhanced security also protects the customer experience and improves loyalty chances,” says Marcial.
Electrical network stability to support consumption
TS Shara, electrical solutions specialist, warns about high energy consumption. Jamil Mouallem, electrical engineer and Commercial Director of the company, comments: “UPS and uninterruptible power supplies are essential to prevent interruptions in data centers and ensure service continuity during Black Friday, one of the busiest times of the year.”
