ABcripto and CNMP sign a technical cooperation agreement for technological integration in the crypto market

In a significant step towards strengthening the digital asset market in Brazil, the Brazilian Cryptoeconomics Association (ABcripto) and the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP) signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement last Wednesday (20) during the 2024 Cryptorama. The goal is to promote joint educational initiatives, disseminate knowledge, and enhance integration between the digital asset market and the Public Ministry.

The agreement was formalized at the panel ‘Legal Transformation: Cryptoeconomics and the Future of Brazilian Justice,’ with the participation of Atalá Correia, Judge at the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories, Bernardo Srur, CEO of ABcripto, and Lorena Lessa, Prosecutor of Justice at the Public Ministry of the State of Goiás, who moderated the discussion. ‘It is a movement that will continue to challenge the legal universe,’ said Correia.

Among the goals of the agreement, there is the creation of an electronic system to optimize compliance with judicial decisions involving crypto assets, as well as providing support for the accreditation of the Public Ministry with virtual asset service providers (PSAV). The elaboration of technical materials and the conduct of workshops to disseminate best practices in the national and international markets is also planned.

‘The agreement represents a significant advancement in building a safer and more transparent environment for the market. By joining forces with the Public Ministry, we are creating tools that not only assist in complying with the legislation but also promote education and awareness about the potential and challenges of the sector. It is a milestone for the development of cryptoeconomics in the country,’ highlights Bernardo Srur, CEO of ABcripto.

The system to be developed and maintained by ABcripto will include modules for custody and settlement of digital assets, as well as functionalities aimed at electronic processing of judicial orders. The initiative reinforces the commitment of the entities to ensure security, transparency, and efficiency in the use of these emerging technologies.

The signing of the agreement represents a milestone in the integration of the cryptoeconomy sector with the Public Ministry, aiming to strengthen compliance and innovation in Brazil.
