With resources from Meta and OpenAI, Magie brings 10 banks to WhatsApp

A fintech Magie, which has been gaining prominence in the financial market, has just taken an important step by integrating 10 banks into WhatsApp, allowing its users to make payments and transfers via PIX using balances from different financial institutions. The novelty will be available starting next Monday (16), with the promise of offering a practical and secure solution for the year-end celebrations, without the need to access banking apps directly on the main cell phone.

With the support of resources from Meta and OpenAI, Magie has stood out for innovation in its platform, which allows simple and fast financial transactions through text, audio, or image commands. Since its launch in 2024, the fintech has already transacted R$300 million and recently completed an investment round of R$28 million, led by the American investment fund Lux Capital, also with participation from the Brazilian fund Canary.

“Our intention is to increasingly facilitate life and bring security to people. Magie allows the customer to uninstall bank apps from the phone and leave home only with WhatsApp. And, of course, for any transaction made, authentication is required through a password, in addition to the user’s ability to set a limit for PIX and payments,” declares Luiz Ramalho, CEO and founder of Magie.

The proposal of Magie is to meet the needs of users who are looking for an agile way to make multiple daily payments and also ensure greater security by avoiding the use of banking apps in public places. The fintech, which already implemented Open Finance technology in early December, expects a significant increase in the number of transactions during the holiday period, offering a solution that can transform how Brazilians manage their finances on a daily basis.

The ten banks that will be available in the new feature are: Itaú, Nubank, C6 Bank, Santander, Bradesco, BTG, PicPay, XP, Banco Inter, Banco do Brasil, and Mercado Pago.

The new feature will be enabled three days before the deactivation of WhatsApp’s native payment feature. However, Meta do Brasil supports Magie’s initiative by providing digital infrastructure and support for development in its application.

Magie has also been increasingly investing in security. Currently, it ensures that users’ passwords are not stored in WhatsApp conversations and uses robust protection systems to ensure the security of banking transactions. Soon, it is expected to also integrate a facial recognition system.

“We believe in the Brazilian public’s appetite for innovations in financial services, driven by the popularity of Pix. By combining advanced technology and a familiar interface, Magie positions itself as an efficient and secure alternative for everyday banking transactions,” said Luiz Ramalho.
