Show Business welcomes Diego Barreto, CEO of iFood, this Wednesday

The Show Business program this Wednesday, February 19, brings an exclusive interview with Diego Barreto, CEO of iFood. Under the command of Bruno Meyer, the edition promises an enriching conversation about the technology market, innovation in the delivery sector, and iFood’s strategic vision for the coming years.

If iFood disappears from Brazil overnight, the national GDP will be impacted by 0.55%, according to a survey conducted by FIPE. Almost R$ 3 billion is converted into gross income annually for the thousands of delivery drivers.

Barreto also reveals the reasons why the app reached 100 million orders in a single month just a few months ago and when it will celebrate 200 million orders per month. “We will reach 200 million orders per month sooner than expected,” says the CEO.

Barreto explains how the company transitioned from being a technology company to becoming – and focusing, even before CHATGPT – an artificial intelligence hub, with internally created AI models that identify, for example, whether a route is better suited for bicycle or motorcycle delivery. iFood’s AI models, developed by the company’s professionals, make 2 billion predictions per month and anticipate operational needs in real time, for example, on days of national passion events like soccer matches. On days when there are classics like Flamengo vs. Corinthians or when Neymar plays for Santos, the platform knows that the availability of delivery drivers decreases – because they are watching the game themselves – and therefore the company communicates in advance with the drivers, generally increasing their pay, so that they are available for deliveries on special days.

Show Business is one of the most traditional interview programs focused on the business and economic universe, bringing great leaders to discuss relevant market topics. With a dynamic and informative approach, the program has established itself as a reference in Brazilian business journalism.

The program can be watched on TV Jovem Pan News, on the channel of the station on YouTube, on Panflix, and on the main FAST Channels, including Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, TCL, and Vidaa TV.
