2025 will be a golden year for Brazilian e-commerce and will boost technology companies

The year 2025 emerges as a promising scenario for Brazilian e-commerce. According to the Brazilian Association of E-commerce (ABComm), the growth projection for the sector is 10% compared to 2024, reaching a turnover of R$ 224.7 billion this year. For Elton Matos, co-founder and CEO of Airlocker, the first Brazilian franchise of smart lockers, the change in consumer habits, with more Brazilians opting for online shopping, opens up a range of opportunities for companies looking to expand their operations.

“As digital consumption grows, the need to invest in innovative solutions to solve logistical challenges also increases, especially regarding product deliveries. The possibility of the delivery person showing up at a time when no one is available to receive or leaving the package in an unsafe place are concerns that are becoming more frequent among consumers,” the CEO reveals.

According to a survey conducted by Octadesk and Opinion Box, 77% of the more than 2,000 respondents stated that they made online purchases throughout 2024. Considering the potential of the context, companies that operate with alternatives that bring more security and convenience to consumers’ daily lives are well positioned to stand out as a promising trend in the market, such as smart lockers. These devices, increasingly common in urban areas, offer an efficient and convenient way for deliveries to be made more safely, allowing consumers to collect their orders at flexible times, as well as providing greater control over the purchase and solving logistical problems.

The entrepreneur states that technology has ceased to be just a differential and has become an essential element in the daily routine of the population. “Airlocker is a reflection of new consumer habits, operating in the final stage of the logistics chain, in what we call the ‘last mile’, a kind of intermediary between distribution centers and the end consumer. In the last two years, we have grown by 200%, and currently, there are about three thousand goods delivered through our ‘smart lockers'”, says Elton.
