Rise in cyber scams leads brands to strengthen device security

According to information from the Threat Landscape for Latin America 2024report, Brazil suffers over a thousand attempted cyber attacks per minute. The country’s consolidation as a target for virtual scams means companies need to strengthen their strategies, policies, and even infrastructure to improve their security against increasingly sophisticated threats. The solution, according to Rafael Pittas, Commercial Executive Manager at iPlace Corporativo (iPlace’s B2B division), involves special attention to devices.

“Devices are the entry point for malware, and the integration between hardware, software, and IT services is a strategy that can reduce the vulnerability of corporate users,” comments the executive. Thus, the first step for companies to stay safe from cyber attacks is understanding the importance of choosing equipment that, from its conception, has been designed to offer a high level of security.

One example is Apple products, which have security features that minimize the attack surface, such as the Secure Enclave system that encrypts and keeps user data safe even when the processor is compromised. As a result, according to the Total Economic Impact™ study of the Mac in businesses, using a MacBook reduces the likelihood of data breaches by 50%.

Furthermore, the operating systems of devices also play a crucial role in corporate data security. “The concern for information confidentiality is important for business sustainability, as security offers benefits on multiple fronts. Strategies to minimize cyber attacks help maintain good relationships and trust levels with stakeholders; reduce costs related to fines and data recovery processes, and even legal proceedings. Additionally, in a scenario where data is the new oil, protection can determine the success of the operation,” says Rafael. Regarding operations, company employees can also take the lead in security procedures, as long as they are equipped with the right tools.

Consequently, investing in highly secure devices that allow employees to familiarize themselves and participate in solving technical problems reduces the demands on the IT team. An example of this is IBM’s case, which found that only 5% of MacBook users required support compared to about 40% of users of other devices. However, despite the reduction in technical support calls, service remains an essential component in maintaining security.

To meet the growing demands of the corporate market, iPlace Corporativo operates as an Apple Authorized Enterprise Reseller (AAER) in Brazil, offering complete and customized solutions for businesses of all sizes. With a consultative approach and a focus on operational efficiency, the company delivers an end-to-end experience that integrates Apple equipment, continuous technical support, software solutions, and financial flexibility. According to executive Rafael Pittas, this structure enables the development of tailored projects that consider the operational reality of small, medium, and large companies.

Among iPlace’s key differentiators are equipment buyback programs, specialized consulting, and integrated hardware and software solutions, promoting technological modernization with scalability and alignment to business objectives.
