Webmotors launches AI-powered search engine and transforms the vehicle search experience in Brazil

Webmotors has just taken another step in its innovation and digital transformation strategy by announcing a new search engine with generative artificial intelligence (AI) capable of understanding natural language commands and delivering results quickly, accurately, and contextually. The new tool is being implemented gradually on the platform and is already available to 15% of users. The expectation is for it to be expanded to the entire customer base by the beginning of the second semester of 2025.

In addition to offering fast and accurate search results, the new tool also provides recommendations to users who are unsure about the most suitable vehicle model for their needs. In these cases, the user simply needs to indicate their need, with commands like “I want an SUV with a sunroof and up to 40,000 kilometers traveled”, or “economical cars with good family space”, without the need to fill out traditional filters. The system understands this user interaction, interprets their need, and provides recommendations immediately.

For Daniel Polistchuck, Chief Technology Officer of Webmotors, the future of car search involves conversation and contextual intelligence. “We are talking about an intelligent search engine that truly serves the user, even if they themselves do not yet know the model they are looking for. This completely changes the experience within our platform and reinforces Webmotors’ position as a reference in innovation in the sector,” explains the executive.

In addition to speeding up the research journey, the novelty enhances the commercial performance, as it connects potential buyers more accurately to ads that truly meet their criteria.

IA NA JORNADA AUTOMOTIVA DA WEBMOTORS

As part of its strategy to offer a complete ecosystem for buying, selling, and using cars and maintain its leadership in the Brazilian market, Webmotors has been investing in innovations that enhance the competitiveness of its business.

In one of its most recent initiatives, the company announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon’s cloud computing platform, to develop an AI-based solution that provides instant and personalized responses to customers who contact dealerships and stores via WhatsApp to get information about vehicles. The technology, already integrated into about 1,800 sales points in Brazil, has increased engagement in negotiations eightfold.

Another significant advancement occurred in 2023 with the launch of Webmotors Services, which uses AI to facilitate and streamline the vehicle maintenance process. For example, users can request quotes for repairs to minor or moderate damages using only a photo taken at the site of the incident. The system identifies the type of damage in up to seven seconds and immediately provides a cost estimate and suggests the nearest workshop.
