Mercado Livre launches a free and online technology training program for people with disabilities

The Mercado Livre (NASDAQ: MELI), an e-commerce and financial services company, in partnership with Ada – a company specialized in recruitment and selection at scale through tools with artificial intelligence – announces the opening of registrations for the second edition of Develop+.

This opportunity, free and 100% online, is aimed at people with disabilities with academic or technical education recognized by the Ministry of Education in technology or exact sciences areas, who wish to develop the necessary skills for a career at Mercado Livre, through a technical training in Backend programming with a focus on Java – one of the most demanded areas in the sector.

With a duration of 15 weeks and over 300 hours of content, Develop+ offers a practical and intensive learning journey, with live and online classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 7 pm to 10 pm. The track also includes meetings, career classes, individual interview simulation sessions, and mentoring, as well as close monitoring by experts from Mercado Livre and Ada.

The contents are aligned with real market demands and the day-to-day of Mercado Livre’s technology team, which was recently recognized as the number 1 company in reputation and practices focused on including people with disabilities in Brazil, ranked by the Integrity ESG portal in partnership with InsightLab. At the end of the program, students will be invited to participate in exclusive selection processes of the company, strengthening the direct connection between education and professional opportunities.

“To continue giving life to our purpose of democratizing e-commerce and financial services to transform the lives of millions of people in Latin America, we need to drive an inclusive ecosystem for everyone every day. This is done with a team that represents the diversity of our users. With Desenvolva+, we want to boost the training of technology professionals who bring new perspectives and experiences that will contribute to the innovation of solutions and products for those who choose Mercado Livre,” says Patricia Monteiro de Araujo, People Director at Mercado Livre in Brazil.

“At Ada, we use proprietary artificial intelligence technologies to select, develop, and map the main skills of each participant, offering a personalized learning journey so that each person can evolve with more confidence and be truly prepared for market challenges. More than just a training, this partnership is a real opportunity to boost careers and reinforce our commitment to the transformation and inclusion of more people in the tech universe,” comments Felipe Paiva, CEO of Ada.

In this edition, the selection process for Desenvolva+ will use CAIO – Ada’s conversational AI – to evaluate the participant’s motivation for the project. In addition, it will feature a coding test to measure technical knowledge and the Coding Tank: a three-day stage that simulates the course, with practical challenges and technical and behavioral evaluation criteria.

This is an opportunity for those who want to accelerate their careers and increase their chances of professional insertion in the largest technology company in Latin America. Registrations take place until June 23rd on the Ada website. The opportunity can be accessed through the link: Link
