Magalu has just launched the selection process for Brazil’s first Artificial Intelligence trainee program, aimed at professionals pursuing specific science degrees. The initiative is directly related to the company’s new strategic cycle—starting in 2026—and aims to develop talent with high technical and analytical capabilities and a strategic vision for data and AI, prepared to develop innovative solutions and apply technology to business. Professionals who graduated between December 2022 and December 2025 from specific science degrees, not necessarily related to technology, are eligible to apply..
With a monthly salary of R$9,600 and benefits, trainees will work in business areas that use artificial intelligence to improve processes and create new solutions. Applications will be accepted exclusively through the program’s official WhatsApp channel, with the conversation flow guided by Lu, Magalu’s digital influencer, through the application of AI. Once registered, candidates will go through the following phases—practical tests and interviews—on other platforms, but still interacting via WhatsApp. The final stage will be in person. Those shortlisted will be interviewed by Frederico Trajano, the company’s CEO, and the selected candidates should be notified by the end of December. To apply or learn more about the process, simply send a “hi” to Lu on WhatsApp at (11) 97827-4804.
“We’ve always been innovative and disruptive. This new trainee selection process is no exception,” says Trajano. “We face the challenge of implementing a cycle driven by the application of artificial intelligence, and we need to attract the best talent in the field to support us in executing this strategy.”
“More than just attracting artificial intelligence experts, we want each trainee to feel challenged to question the obvious and propose innovative solutions for our business areas,” says Patricia Pugas, executive director of people management. “The technology itself is there for everyone. What will truly make a difference is how these tools will transform, for the better, the day-to-day operations of the company and everyone impacted by it.”
During the selection process, knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL, cloud tools (AWS, GCP, Azure), AI/ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch), and data analysis solutions will be valued. However, being a specialist is not a mandatory requirement, as professionals will work in the company’s business areas, and the program will offer specific training paths. Participants will have access to courses, mentoring, and workshops taught by Magalu and external professionals.
Throughout the program, there will be technical and career guidance, with room for everyone to propose their own projects. The best ideas will be tested and implemented. Trainees will work with machine learning, generative AI, and Magalu tools to develop practical solutions. They will be assigned to the company’s headquarters in São Paulo or to strategic areas, in a hybrid format. Benefits include health insurance, meal/food vouchers, profit sharing, relocation assistance (for those outside São Paulo), and language courses.
