Brazilian commerce recorded a 13.53% growth in revenue between June 5th and 12th compared to the same period last year. The data, which covers both physical and digital sales across the country, reveal a positive economic dynamic, marked by an increase in revenue, even in the face of a slight 0.68% decline in the total volume of transactions.
The growth was driven by the wholesale sector, which showed a significant 23.89% increase in revenue, with emphasis on durable goods, food wholesale, and online sales. Meanwhile, retail grew more modestly, with a 4.13% rise in revenue.
Highlighted Sectors
Considering both physical and online environments, the perfume, cosmetics, and beauty products sector — across both retail and wholesale — recorded a 3.71% growth, demonstrating its appeal during the commemorative date. The clothing segment performed even more significantly, with a 34% increase, while department stores grew by 29.28%.
Physical vs. Digital Channels
While physical stores account for most of the transaction volume, digital channels have stood out with a higher growth rate of 16.22%. Online sales highlight a preference for e-commerce purchases.
