The digitization of condominium routines has reached a new chapter with the launch of Laundry in Box, a solution created by Lavanderia 60 Minutos, which transforms smart wardrobes into collection and return points for sanitized clothes. Installed directly in the common areas of buildings, the system works like a “Uber for Laundromats”: the resident deposits dirty clothes, makes payment via an app, and receives clean and packaged items back in the same compartment, within 24 hours, with no physical contact and real-time tracking. The proposal combines convenience, technology, and sustainability to meet a growing demand for on-demand services in residential environments. The expectation is to reach 2 thousand units installed by the end of 2025, with operations already started in São Paulo.
The operation is simple: the lockers are installed without the need for construction, structural changes, or energy consumption by the condominium. The manager authorizes the installation, and from there, the service is activated with the support of Grupo Hi’s team, the holding company behind Lavanderia 60 Minutos, responsible for all logistics of collection, washing, and return. The washing is carried out by franchised units of the network, with proprietary technology, low water consumption (48 liters per cycle), and biodegradable inputs. Thus, condominiums can offer residents an essential, high-quality service, with no maintenance costs, no need for in-house staff, and full autonomy for the end user.
The model has proven especially attractive in large urban centers, where time is increasingly scarce and convenience has become a priority. “By eliminating trips to external laundromats, queues, and manual processes, Laundry in Box provides a new consumption experience that aligns with the trend of home service automation and the preference for smartphone-accessed solutions,” points out Isaelson Oliveira, CEO of Grupo Hi. He explains that the proposal is to make washing clothes as easy as ordering a meal or a car via an app, transforming the condominium’s everyday life into a more modern, fluid, and connected environment. “We’ve seen the service market evolve very quickly, and Laundry in Box is our response to this trend,” he emphasizes.
The service’s rollout is part of Grupo Hi’s strategic plan, which has already deployed 50 units in São Paulo. The expansion estimate follows the holding company’s own growth trajectory, which closed 2024 with R$ 54 million in revenue and aims to reach R$ 75 million by the end of 2025. With nearly 1000 stores in operation, the holding company is also in the process of internationalization, with an initial investment of €1 million in Portugal, where it intends to consolidate its presence in Europe and prepare for an IPO by 2027, with the goal of reaching R$ 1 billion in market value. “For property managers, the solution represents more than a convenience: it’s a way to enhance the condominium’s value, add innovation to residents’ daily lives, and align with the new expectations of the real estate market,” adds Isaelson. The presence of Laundry in Box can be highlighted as a competitive advantage in unit sales and rentals, reinforcing the positioning of condominiums that invest in smart, sustainable, and user-experience-centered services.
